Impact Health is a dynamic start-up entity created to lead Western North Carolina's (WNC's) participation in the State of North Carolina's Healthy Opportunities Pilot program for Medicaid.

Functioning as the Network Lead for WNC's Healthy Opportunities program, Impact Health:

  • Serves as a connection between the NCDHHS, private health plans, and HSOs participating in the pilot.
  • Oversees the WNC HSO network.
  • Supports capacity building, training, technical assistance and convenings for HSOs.
  • Reviews HSO invoices and forwards them to the correct private health plan.
  • Collects and reports data to inform evaluation efforts.

Impact Health serves a network of not-for-profit human services organizations (HSOs) that provide housing, transportation, food, or interpersonal safety services.

Our network HSOs provide services to eligible Medicaid Managed Care Members.

The IT Support Technician position oversees setting up, managing, and troubleshooting the technology systems that the organization uses to maintain computer and software networks. This position works closely with Impact Health's third-party IT vendor, and will offer day-to-day support to the organization, while relying on extensive subject matter expertise of the vendor. Duties include responding to hardware problems, and tracking the data and communications used on their network.


The IT Support Technician maintains and improves the technical systems of Impact Health to ensure all employees have the technology they need to complete their work and the organization's important files and information remain safe and intact. Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising and cultivating an excellent working relationship with Impact Health's third-party IT vendor.
  • Maintaining working components through repair or replacement.
  • Assisting team members and HSOs via email or phone with technical difficulties.
  • Assisting HSOs with platform technical difficulties.



  • Bachelors' Degree or Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field is desired OR High School Diploma and relevant Information Technology certification(s)/training/years of experience in place of degree.
  • 3 years' Information Technology experience.

Work Experience


  • Hardware and software knowledge, service, and ability to perform installations.
  • SharePoint administration.
  • CRM administration.
  • Solid knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications and environments.
  • Prior experience using standard operational procedure documentation to assist team members and client partners.
  • Prior experience providing technical support in person, over the phone and/or via email, where appropriate.
  • Work with team members to establish and maintain documentation.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve network hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.


  • Ability to project manage software deployment and training.
  • Previous service desk experience.
  • Field service experience.
  • AV experience.
  • Basic knowledge with firewalls and authentication systems.
