Givens Gerber Park, a leading affordable senior housing community in Asheville, has a full-time housekeeping position available. The schedule is Monday thru Friday. This role provides housekeeping services to the public areas and helps maintain the community's appearance.

As a Givens team member, you hold a meaningful and vital position where you can see the impact that you make in the lives of our residents, visitors, and fellow team members every day.

What you'll do:
  • Build rapport and trust in our services with residents and fellow team members
  • Be punctual in reporting to assigned area per work schedule
  • Perform housekeeping services per request
  • Report to the Community Manager any concerns about daily housekeeping operations
  • Keep equipment and storage areas clean and neat
  • Report to the Community Manager any concerns of safety or health that may exist in the work area, including equipment and maintenance problems
  • Maintain housekeeping supplies and collaborate with the Community Manager when new or more supplies are needed
  • Advise Community Manager of any items to be included in budget preparation
  • Perform routine and preventative cleaning responsibilities
  • Ensure mailboxes and communication boards are checked daily and ensure that keys and tablets are returned before leaving
  • Maintain proper cleaning on vacuums and equipment daily
  • Supply and restock housekeeping carts and golf carts daily
  • Sweep and mop areas daily to maintain required sanitary standards
  • Confer with Community Manager when uncertain on methods of cleaning
  • Assist with daily laundry duties
  • Be friendly, courteous, helpful, and supportive of residents and co-workers
  • Solve problems and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
  • Assist residents with preferences and special requests while remaining within the scope of the position
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment and follow the departmental policy of using only OSHA-approved chemicals with SDS on file
  • Collaborate with the Community Manager to ensure remarkets and refurbishment are completed on time
  • Participate, provide input, and support department and community-wide meetings

What you'll need:
  • High School or equivalent is preferred; additional Technical or Vocational desirable but not required
  • Exemplary work ethic and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt with minimal supervision
  • Six months of experience in a related position is preferred
  • Must possess knowledge of general housekeeping procedures
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Strong customer services skills and enjoys interacting with a diverse customer base

Compensation: $16 per hour plus the $1,000 sign-on bonus and our fantastic benefits package!
