The Community of Candler, North Carolina is an unincorporated community in Buncombe County, nestled halfway between Asheville (20 minutes away) and Canton (20 minutes away). This mountain community lies in Hominy Valley and there are approximately 332 people per square mile (density). Originally settled by native Cherokee Indians, early in the mid-1700s the land was then settled by German, Scottish and English settlers.

The median age in Candler is 41 years of age and the highest percentage of the population are between the ages of 35 and 44. Ethnicity is as follows: 97.43% Caucasian, 1.43% Hispanic, .52% African American, .41% American Indian and Alaskan Native, 31% Asian, and .52% Other.
